Clutterbuck Associates
Clutterbuck Associates
Clutterbuck Associates pioneered mentoring in the workplace in Europe and remain the international thought leaders in this powerful area of development. We support companies throughout the world in building sustainable capability in mentoring.
We are also at the leading edge of coaching, specialising in coaching consultancy, assessment, on-boarding, development and management of executive coaches, team coaching and helping organisations create sustainable coaching and mentoring cultures. We focus on supporting organisations achieve maximum value and impact from their coaching interventions. We do not provide executive coaching. A core area of our consultancy is around developing, embedding and sustaining coaching and mentoring cultures.
What links these core themes is more than 25 years of continuous research into the quality of dialogue in the workplace, to improve decision-making and increase performance.
Our long standing track record of designing and delivering best in class coaching and mentoring programmes has also enabled us to continually push the boundaries of what and how we deliver to clients. Fundamental to our approach is working with organisations to tailor our programmes to their organisational vision and values so that that our programmes are appropriate to the audience and are fully aligned to the vision.
Our practice was founded by Professor David Clutterbuck who actively lectures, trains, publishes and carries out research in the field of mentoring and coaching. David has just been nominated and awarded Coaching at Work’s “Mentoring Person of the Year”. The CA consultancy team are all experts in their respective fields of coaching and mentoring and bring an important combination of practical, academic, and organisational insights into their support.
David is a prolific writer and has just published his 50th book. His books have all been focused on management themes but he is best known for “Everyone Needs a Mentor”, “Mentoring in Action”, “Mentoring Executives and Directors” and “Techniques in Coaching and Mentoring”. His most recent book is about virtual coaching and mentoring. David is a co-founder and Honorary Vice President of the European Mentoring and Coaching Council (EMCC) and is a visiting professor at both Sheffield Hallam and Oxford Brookes Universities.
Our Ethos
We strive to be the best we can be for our clients and our colleagues. Our values underpin how we approach our work. At Clutterbuck Associates (CA) our ethos is to:
- Ensure that we only offer solutions that are unique and leading edge
- Maintain a constant programme of research into both fundamentals and good practice in all our delivery areas
- Always offer an opportunity to transfer to our clients both the knowledge and capability to run CA programmes using their own in-house resources
- Work with your organisational context. No change takes place in isolation; it is often part of an existing system. We expect to work with clients to identify and manage the context in which a programme will operate
- Avoid a ‘sheep-dip’ approach training wherever possible. Most of our programmes involve continued support to maintain sustainability
